Kormac Energetic in New Track
Stitching together an explosive soundscape with the potential for something visceral, Kormac’s “I Believe” is a fun electronic track that aptly combines the coolness of lounge music with the fire of modern day dance cuts. The 4 minute track feels serene as it does vibrant, with Kormac delivering an energetic number. The song seems to fall just a little short of reaching its intended destination, with the track approaching but never really reaching a satisfying pop; however, “I Believe” is a wonderfully produced track that audiences will enjoy.
The track’s tight production helps the synth and bass come out strong right at the start, with the song’s warm energy emanating strongly and hooking the audience. It grooves along nicely, with plenty of opportunities for dance clubs and car rides alike to feel fiery.
We love how “I Believe” also has a cool lounge feel to it, perhaps not as sleepy in feel as artists such as Flume or Ratatat, but just enough that listeners have a choice of stomping out wildly or simply lying back and headbobbing.
The catch here is that if “I Believe” is going to put on a guise that it is has club potential, it needs a memorable moment in its instrumental that really catches the listener offguard. Unfortunately, there isn’t one here, which really dampens just how potent the song can be. An electric drop could really turn this tight track into something scintillating.
The potential for radio accessibility is here too, but the song’s progression can regrettably feel a little monotonous at times. A vocalist or a section that feels more like an obvious chorus may help, but otherwise, “I Believe” still feels great.
Regardless of our concerns, “I Believe” is a fun track with the potential to really capture hearts. We love how it refuses to be too safe, dishing out an energy that you can tell shows Kormac’s desire to really entrance you with his work. The production is tight, and its cool swagger should be enough to make you believe in Kormac too.
